RECOGNITION
We'd like to take this opportunity to recognize a few of our great
clients and the good design work that we have been able to achieve
together. We share the following awards and recognition with you!
Aries Industries
- Waukesha, WI, 2004
This project involved the remodeling of a 60,000-square-foot historic
building near downtown Waukesha. The five-story structure was built
in 1916 and was originally used for gelatin manufacturing. The building
was remodeled in 2004 to accommodate a manufacturing facility. Madisen
Architects designed the addition to be sympathetic to the original
architecture of the building. The project was awarded a 2004 "Historic
Preservation" award by the Wisconsin
Trust for Historic Preservation.
1033 Old World Third
- Milwaukee, WI, 2007
This project involved the remodeling of a 137-year-old cream brick five-story structure. Since the property is located in a historic district, great care was taken with the storefront design to replicate original profiles and proportions. This project was awarded the 2007 Downtown Achievement Award presented by the Downtown Business Improvement District and the 2007 Cream of the City Award presented by the Milwaukee Historical Preservation Commission.

Kenadees
- Milwaukee, WI, 2004
Madisen Architects was asked to design a storefront compatible
with one of the historic buildings on Milwaukee Street. The
storefront had to be operable to allow for outdoor dining during
the summer season. The mahogany storefront is finished in a
stain color that complements the brick. The project received
a 2004 "Mayor's Urban Design
Award." |

Starbuck Middle School
- Racine, WI 2005
This project involved the remodeling of the exterior skin
of a 1950s-era middle school. The purpose of the remodeling
was to improve the energy efficiency of the building envelope,
along with the complete retrofit of the mechanical systems.
The result was a significant reduction in energy consumption.
The project was given an award of merit at the 2005 SE2 (Sustainability,
Energy, Efficiency) Leadership Conference.

"Madisen Architects has been phenomenal in helping us figure
out state and city codes. They know the codes very well, know
the people at the city and have offices right across from the
DCD. They handle issues for us and know how to cut the red tape."
